  • Successfully defended in Federal Court, an offshore helicopter ferry service sued in a wrongful death case where a helicopter was alleged by plaintiff to have been the source of ignition of an explosion on an offshore platform.
  • A manufacturer of a window wall system was defended in a construction case wherein a hotel owner alleged air and water intrusion due to design and manufacturing defects.
  • Obtained a favorable settlement for our client airport who was being sued in a malicious prosecution and false arrest case where the demand to settle was $8MM.
  • A client communications company (switch based reseller) sued by a national telecommunications company in excess of $1MM. The case was successfully defended by showing that the Plaintiff was unable to perform the contract specification for long distance international traffic.
  • Obtained a Take Nothing judgment in the defense of a Chicago-based manufacturer sued $2.6 MM for products defect in the United States District Court, Southern District of Texas and United States District Court, Eastern District of  (Beaumont)Texas. The Plaintiff sustained a two-level herniation of his lumbar discs.
  • Defended client owner/operated of commercial properties where exposures to carcinogens allegedly caused bodily injuries. The exposure allegedly caused several deaths, cancer, damage to immunological systems, and other severe illnesses.
  • Obtained a defense verdict for an insurer following a December 2011 trial in Houston, Harris County, Texas.  The Plaintiff’s attorneys alleged breach of contract, fraud, breach of the duty of good faith and fair dealing as well as other causes of action under the Texas Insurance Code.  The case arose out of a Hurricane Ike claim and the trial lasted 2 1/2 weeks.
  • Obtained in June 2013, a no liability verdict for a Florida based insurer following a trial in Houston, Harris County, Texas.  The Plaintiff’s attorneys alleged breach of contract, fraud, breach of the duty of good faith and fair dealing as well as other causes of action under the Texas Insurance Code.  The case arose out of a claim by an owner of a rental property that the insurer failed to pay a claim for many thousands of dollars of property damages to the dwelling.  The plaintiffs asked for treble damages and over $125,000 in attorneys fees.
  • Obtained a Take Nothing Judgment for our client airport in a wrongful death case.  The tragic death of a young lady which occurred on a taxiway was alleged in a Harris County Court to have been caused by a failure of security on the part of the airport.  The jury was asked to award $8,000,000.00.
  • Successfully prosecuted a case against an A&P aircraft mechanic for negligent installation of a universal “O” Ring causing a loss of oil at altitude during IMC conditions.  The subsequent descent into hilly terrain resulted in property damages and personal injury.
